Angela Yee announced she is leaving “The Breakfast Club” to host her very own syndicated radio show with iHeartRadio.

She made the announcement on-air on Wednesday, the morning after she set social media ablaze after tweeting, “The breakfast club as you know it is officially over ??”

Rather than doing their “Donkey of the Day” segment, Charlamagne gave the floor to Angela and asked her to give some context to her jaw-dropping tweet.

That’s when she announced her exciting news as well as her departure from the show saying:

This is really exciting. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for years now…since way before the pandemic.

I had actually sat down with our big boss, Thea, and I was telling her, ‘Look, I really want to have my own show.’

You know I have my podcast, ‘Lip Service,’ and I was thinking I would be able get something like a weekend situation.

You know, one day ease into having my own show again. I did come from Sirius, where I had ‘The Morning After with Angela Yee’ and then came here.

So, it’s always been a goal of mine to have that.

I thought I would still be on here and do that show as well.

Years later, they approached me up here at iHeart. Thea had a sit down with me and told me that they are going to give me my very own show.

I am going to be leaving the Breakfast Club. You guys obviously will continue on.

It’ll be a different iteration of the Breakfast Club, but I will have my own up here at iHeart as well.

I will be part of the family.

Angela Yee went on to confirm she will have a “nationally syndicated daily show.”

She added, “It’s really exciting! I honestly can’t believe it. I know it took a long time to make this happen.”

Angela Yee did confirm she will remain on “The Breakfast Club” for a least another month.

Way Up With Angela Yee” is slated to launch this fall.

Will you miss her on “The Breakfast Club?”
