Veteran makeup artist Allie Shehorn, known for her work on Rebel Moon, Babylon, the recent Mean Girls remake, and BET+’s “The Rich and the Ruthless,” faced a real-life horror show on May 23.
Allie was reportedly stabbed more than 20 times by her ex-boyfriend in a shocking attack that left her with severe injuries.
The terrifying incident took place in Shehorn’s home, where she suffered gashes to her neck, arms, and abdomen.
Miraculously, she survived the brutal assault and was rushed to the hospital for multiple surgeries.
Christine White, her surrogate mother, discovered the bleeding Shehorn at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
“I found her and I had to go into the bedroom where it happened,” White told KTLA. “That wasn’t a pretty sight.”
A Glimmer of Hope In The ICU
Allie Shehorn, 35, was admitted in critical condition but has since been moved out of the ICU.
Friend Jed Dornoff posted a photo of Shehorn and White in the hospital, showing a surprisingly upbeat-looking Shehorn despite her ordeal.
Dornoff shared that Shehorn has limited use of her hands following the attack, which could impact her career as a makeup artist.
The Assailant: A Background Actor Turned Fugitive
In a twist worthy of a crime drama, Shehorn’s assailant, a background actor she met on the set of Rebel Moon, fled the state after the attack.
Reports indicate that she had recently obtained a restraining order against him due to domestic violence.
The suspect was arrested in Texas near the Mexican border, according to multiple reports citing law enforcement.
A Community Rallies Together
The entertainment industry and Shehorn’s friends have rallied together to support her during this difficult time.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with hospital bills and what is expected to be a lengthy rehabilitation process.
Allie Shehorn is a beloved member of IATSE 706 Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Guild, and the community is determined to see her through her recovery.
A Story of Resilience
Allie’s journey from the operating table to recovery is a testament to her incredible resilience.
Despite the physical and emotional trauma, she remains hopeful and surrounded by friends and family who are committed to helping her heal.
“Allie is a fighter,” Dornoff said. “She’s one of the toughest people I know, and she’s going to get through this with our support.”
This harrowing incident reminds us of the very real dangers of domestic violence and the importance of supporting survivors.
Allie Shehorn’s strength and the outpouring of love from her community are a powerful testament to the human spirit’s ability to endure and overcome even the most horrific challenges.
