Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael, and William Bryan Jr., three men charged in the February 23 killing of Ahmaud Arbery, have entered not guilty pleas on Friday.

The McMichaels and Bryan were indicted by a grand jury last month on malice and felony murder charges in Arbery’s death.

The charges also include aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment, according to the indictment.

At the hearing, Ahmaud’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, asked a judge to deny bond for William Bryan Jr. during her victim impact statement:

I am asking this court to say no. He can not go home. He denied my son to go home. My son ran away. He ran, he ran.

My son actually ran around him and my son actually ran for his life. But William Bryan did not allow my son to return home.

In a statement, Ahmaud’s father, Marcus Arbery, said he “suffered the deepest loss a family can endure when the McMichaels and Bryan acted as judge, jury and executioner.”

Judge Timothy Walmsley denied bond for Bryan.

Attorney Benjamin Crump took to Twitter after the hearing and tweeted:

William “Roddie” Bryan Jr. was denied bond today! We must keep the pressure ON and get #JusticeforAhmaud ✊? We cannot let the McMichaels and Bryan get away with the murder of #AhmaudArbery!!
