Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, three of the most popular social media platforms in the world went down like Mary J. Blige on Monday in a major internet outage.

Social media outages aren’t uncommon, but they typically don’t last for hours like this one has and it’s left some users in shambles.

Shortly, after 12 p.m., Facebook took to the streets of Twitter (aka “The Last Man Standing”) to give an update on the outage:

We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Instagram shared the following message via Twitter:

Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it! #instagramdown

When FB and IG go down, the first thing people do is make their  way to Twitter to confirm it’s an outage, get their jokes off, and pass time until their faves are back online.

At least Twitter is a good sport about it!
