Disney Drops The First “Zootopia 2” Trailer
Frens, it’s official! Walt Disney Animation Studios just dropped the brand-new trailer and poster for “Zootopia 2” and it’s giving us everything we didn’t even know we needed.
From fresh faces to hidden reptile populations, our favorite bunny and fox duo is back with a whole new adventure that’s bigger, bolder, and packed with surprises.
This time, rookie cops Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) stumble into uncharted territory when they cross paths with Gary De’Snake, a mysterious pit viper voiced by Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan.
Shakira Returns As Gazelle With A Brand-New Anthem
Let’s talk music, because you know Disney wasn’t about to play around with this soundtrack.
Shakira is back as Gazelle and she’s dropping a brand-new original track titled “Zoo.”
The song, written by Shakira alongside Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin, is a vibrant, feel-good anthem that already feels destined to follow in the footsteps of “Try Everything,” which has been streamed a jaw-dropping 2.7 billion times since the first film.
“Zoo” officially drops Friday, October 10, but SiriusXM’s Disney Hits (channel 133) is giving fans an exclusive first listen on October 8.
Then, you’ll be able to hear it every hour that day leading up to its global release.
Fun fact: Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin also make cameo appearances in “Zootopia 2” as you guessed it two sheep named Ed Shearin and Baalake Lambkin. I love a good pun.
An All-Star Cast Joins The Adventure
If you thought the first film’s cast was stacked, wait until you hear who’s lending their voices this time.
Alongside returning faves Idris Elba as Chief Bogo and Nate Torrence as Clawhauser, the sequel brings in some heavy hitters and unexpected surprises:
- Andy Samberg as part of the Lynxley family
- David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin, and Brenda Song also joining as Lynxleys
- Fortune Feimster as Nibbles Maplestick, a beaver podcaster obsessed with reptile conspiracies
- Patrick Warburton as Mayor Brian Winddancer
- Quinta Brunson as Dr. Fuzzby, a quokka therapy animal
- And plenty more familiar voices and new personalities
With Jared Bush and Byron Howard directing, and Yvett Merino producing, this sequel is already shaping up to be a major theatrical event.
Release Date And Soundtrack Details
Mark your calendars, Frens. “Zootopia 2” hits theaters nationwide on Wednesday, November 26, just in time for the holiday season.
The soundtrack, composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino, will release on November 21 to set the mood for the big screen return.
Between Shakira’s “Zoo,” a star-studded cast, and the return to one of Disney’s most beloved animated worlds, this sequel has blockbuster written all over it.
