🏀 Serious Allegations Rock Zion Williamson’s Public Image
New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson is facing a bombshell civil lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by a woman identified as Jane Doe, who accuses the NBA star of rape and a multiyear pattern of “sexual, physical, emotional and financial” abuse.
According to the 12-page complaint obtained by ESPN, the alleged abuse took place between 2018 and 2023, beginning during Williamson’s freshman year at Duke and continuing throughout the early years of his NBA career.
The lawsuit details disturbing claims, including multiple incidents of rape, choking, stalking, and threats of violence.
⚖️ Inside The Complaint: Two Alleged Incidents Of Rape
The lawsuit outlines two separate rape allegations from 2020 in Beverly Hills, California:
- In September 2020, the woman alleges Williamson forced himself on her after she expressed a desire to sleep. She claims he pinned her hands behind her back and raped her, then threw her phone and choked her afterward.
- A second incident reportedly took place in October 2020 after she told him she was planning to visit a friend. She describes the encounter as a “violent rape.”
The lawsuit also accuses Williamson of:
- Strangulation that led to unconsciousness
- Unlawful entry into her home and theft
- Threatening to kill her and her family on multiple occasions
Jane Doe is seeking monetary and punitive damages—an amount ranging from $18 million to $50 million.
🛡️ Zion Williamson’s Legal Team Denies All Allegations
Williamson’s attorneys from Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver LLC have categorically denied the claims, calling them “false and reckless.”
“This appears to be an attempt to exploit a professional athlete driven by a financial motive,” the legal team stated.
They assert the relationship was casual and consensual, ended years ago, and that Williamson previously reported the woman for extortion.
His team says they will file a counterclaim and welcome the opportunity to fight the allegations in court.
🧑⚖️ What’s Next In The Legal Battle?
The woman’s attorney, Sam Taylor II, said his client is prepared to tell her story in court, stressing that this is not a matter to be litigated in the press.
“This is a very serious case,” he said.
At the time of publishing, the New Orleans Pelicans have declined to comment and deferred to Williamson’s legal representatives.
