A woman was shot six times by an off-duty Texas officer during a traffic confrontation on Sunday.
Lacresha Murray said the incident started when she U-turn on her way to the hospital and a truck passed her and slowed down.
When she passed the truck, the driver started tailgating her through a residential area.
Lacresha said she got out of her car at a stop sign to confront the driver.
I got out, jumped out [holding my hip area] like what’s your problem, bro,” Murray reportedly said. “As soon as I did that, he pulled a gun.
I ran back to my truck to get in and drive out. He just started shooting, all I could do was lean over and he hit me six times.
Residents came out of their homes when they heard the gunfire and began recording the off-duty Texas officer.
Lacresha Murray said that’s when he pulled out his badge.
At the time, when he’s looking back and seeing these guys recording, he turned around, then he took out his badge.
She added:
I’m a victim that got shot by an off-duty police officer that did not identify himself. For no reason, I didn’t approach him, I didn’t threaten him. I don’t do anything. He just opened fire for no reason.
Watch the news report below.
Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting incident and Lacresha is expected to survive her injuries.
Investigating?! Had the tables been turned, Lacresha would be facing attempted murder charges.
