A 53-year-old woman, who died after being dumped at a Bronx hospital, is believed to be a victim of botched butt injections.
Maxine Messam was driven to Jacobi Medical Center in her own BMW SUV by two women, who pretended to be good samaritans.
They told hospital staff that they found Maxine in distress at Woodlawn Cemetery and wanted to help her.
Then, they walked off without a trace.
Maxine was naked from the waist down when she was left at the hospital and she had needle marks on her body.
Doctors found a foreign substance had been injected into her buttocks.
The hospital called 911 at 1:51 a.m. shortly after Maxine Messam died.
Maxine’s husband, Carlos Simpson, who is understandably in complete shock, told the NY Daily News:
We don’t know what happened.
She was at work and she left work. So we don’t know what happened from there.
Maxine’s son, who declined to give his name, said:
Everybody is really emotionally damaged at this point in time. I would like to say something but we don’t have all the details.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine Maxine Messam’s cause of death.
It’s so heartbreaking to hear about a woman losing her life to illegal or botched butt injections.
My sincerest condolences to Maxine’s family.
