New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. are stirring up excitement with the newly released teaser for “Companion,” a film that’s promising to be anything but your typical love story.
From the same studio that brought you the heart-wrenching romance of “The Notebook” and the unhinged minds behind “Barbarian,” “Companion” teases a wild ride that blends love, danger, and a touch of horror.
Written and directed by Drew Hancock, this chilling yet intriguing love story stars Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid, with a stellar supporting cast that includes Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.
The ensemble promises a lot of personality and intensity as they navigate a love story that seems to have more at stake than just broken hearts.
Produced by “Barbarian” filmmakers Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Zach Cregger, and Roy Lee, “Companion” seems poised to deliver the same edge-of-your-seat thrills we’ve come to expect from their work.
With cinematographer Eli Born creating the eerie visuals and a score composed by Hrishikesh Hirway, the teaser hints at a tense, atmospheric film.
Other standout talents in the production include editor Brett W. Bachman, production designer Scott Kuzio, and costume designer Vanessa Porter, all of whom have helped craft a visual style that’s both gritty and surreal.
The teaser, while brief, gives us just enough to know that “Companion” is more than meets the eye.
With a theatrical release date set for January 10, 2025, in the U.S. (and internationally starting January 8), we won’t have to wait too long to see how this twisted love story unfolds.
Warner Bros. is clearly positioning “Companion” as an early must-watch for the new year, and based on the creative team behind it, we’re in for a thrilling experience.
