Usher recently spoke out about the backlash he received from serenading Keke Palmer at one of his Las Vegas shows, calling it “a pop moment worth talking about.”
Usher told People magazine that he hopes everybody’s vision or version of what they felt happened between him and Keke in that moment leads back to having a good time in Las Vegas.
I think everybody’s vision or a version of what they felt happened there just leads you back to just really having a good time in Las Vegas.
And that’s what I hope came out of it. Rather, it was a conversation of what was going on with us having fun in front of the audience or conversation about that song,
Keke’s baby’s father, Darius Jackson, did not view the interaction as two people having a good time in Las Vegas.
He publicly called Keke out for the outfit she was wearing.
It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom.
We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.
Keke seemingly ignored his tweets, and posted more photos of her outfit, captioning her post:
I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late!
The current status of Keke and Darius’ relationship is unknown, but reportedly, he scrubbed his social media accounts of her after Usher thanked her for coming to his show.
Usher did admit that the backlash has him thinking about how the world is going to react to whatever woman he chooses to serenade next.
Every night I’m thinking about how the world now is going to react to this moment that I’ll have with whoever I’m choosing to sing to.
But it was a pop moment, and it was fun to have at least conversation going and we just keep it light. I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas.
Usher fans have nicknamed him the “Domestic Terrorist” from his Vegas serenades, but he doesn’t seem to mind because he knows the internet is undefeated.
The internet is crazy. You can’t beat the internet.
