Deveca Rose, a 30-year-old mother from south London, has been convicted of manslaughter following the tragic deaths of her four young children in a house fire.
The devastating incident occurred on December 16, 2021, when Rose left her two sets of twin boys, ages three and four, alone in their Sutton home while she went shopping.
The fire engulfed the property, leaving the children trapped and unable to escape.
On October 3, 2024, Rose appeared in court, where she was found guilty of four counts of manslaughter but acquitted of child abandonment charges.
The Metropolitan Police released a statement confirming the conviction, shedding light on the heartbreaking sequence of events that led to the deaths of Leyton, Logan, Kyson, and Bryson Hoath.
The four brothers, Leyton and Logan, aged three, and Kyson and Bryson, aged four, were found unconscious by firefighters in an upstairs bedroom.
Despite immediate efforts to save them, the boys were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

A passer-by first noticed the fire shortly after 7:00 p.m. and notified a neighbor, who bravely attempted to rescue the children by kicking in the front door.
Unfortunately, the fire’s intensity made it impossible to enter the home.
In her defense, Rose claimed that a woman named Jade, whom she had met only days earlier, was supposed to be watching the children while she was away.
However, police investigations revealed no evidence of this mysterious woman’s existence.
CCTV footage, phone data, and further investigations failed to corroborate Rose’s story.
Despite her claims, Rose’s account unraveled, as the phone number she provided to police for “Jade” was suspiciously similar to her own.
The conviction of Deveca Rose for manslaughter brings a tragic chapter in this devastating case to a close, but the grief over the loss of four innocent lives will forever weigh heavily on the community.
