Just when you thought it was almost over, Universal Pictures has announced they will end the Fast & Furious franchise with TWO more films.
The original plan was to wrap up the franchise with 10 films, but thanks to Rona – F9 has been sitting in the crockpot and will not be released until Memorial Day 2021.
According to Deadline, Universal has tapped Justin Lin to direct the final two installments.
F9 — which is the fifth film in the franchise directed by Lin and which premieres next Memorial Day — continues the story line of the core cast and Charlize Theron, and adds John Cena, Helen Mirren, Grammy-winner Cardi B and Reggaeton sensation Ozuna.
I’m guessing since F9 had to sit for so long, they added another film on the backside in an effort to re-up on the money they lost due to the pandemic delay.
Are you excited about even more Fast & Furious films on the way?
