Trap City, written and directed by Tel K. Ganesan, dives deep into society’s obsession with fame and the human spirit’s resilience in the face of adversity.
Described as a “movement” by Ganesan, the film holds up a mirror to the double-edged nature of power, fame, and ambition.
The plot follows a struggling rapper working as a drug kingpin’s “drop man.”
Just as a song he records becomes a viral hit, he’s arrested, sending his newfound fame into overdrive.
But fame comes at a cost, and when his life is threatened, he must decide whether to destroy his career by going to prison or risk it all by testifying against a dangerous crime boss.
