His wife, Mayumi Heene, received 20 days of weekend jail.
They were also ordered to pay $36,000 in restitution.
Although they admitted guilt, the Heenes have since claimed they were coerced, fearing Mayumi’s deportation. In 2020, both were pardoned by Colorado Governor Jared Polis.
