What’s ‘The Savant‘ All About?
At the center of the story is an undercover investigator, code-named “The Savant,” who embeds herself into online hate groups to prevent domestic terrorist threats before they happen.
And when I say tension? I mean edge-of-your-couch, white-knuckle kind of tension.
Chastain leads the series with the kind of fierce determination and layered vulnerability we’ve seen from her in “George & Tammy,” “The Good Nurse,” and “The Eyes of Tammy Faye.”
But this time, she’s stepping into a world of digital warfare and real-world consequences.
The story is inspired by a Cosmopolitan feature by journalist Andrea Stanley, who also consulted on the series.
So while it’s dramatized, there’s a chilling dose of real-world truth woven in.
The Cast Bringing This Thriller To Life
Joining Chastain is a powerful ensemble that includes:
- Nnamdi Asomugha
- Cole Doman
- Jordana Spiro
- Trinity Lee Shirley
- Toussaint Francois Battiste
- Pablo Schreiber (in a guest-starring role)
You already know with Pablo in the mix, things are about to get intense.
Who’s Behind The Scenes?
The creative team behind “The Savant” is stacked with heavy-hitters:
- Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael producing through Freckle Films
- Alan Poul (“Six Feet Under,” “Tokyo Vice”)
- Melissa James Gibson (“Anatomy of a Scandal,” “House of Cards”)
- Matthew Heineman, a nine-time Emmy winner known for “Cartel Land” and “A Private War”
- David Levine and Garrett Kemble for Anonymous Content
Andrea Stanley’s original article planted the seed, and now it’s blossoming into a full-on prestige TV moment.
