Peacock Brings The Newsroom To Life In ‘The Paper’

Peacock just dropped the official trailer for “The Paper,” and if you’re a fan of “The Office,” this one is already calling your name.

Premiering September 4, the comedy series follows the documentary crew that made Scranton’s Dunder Mifflin famous as they take on a new project — capturing the chaos, charm, and quirks of a historic Midwestern newspaper fighting to stay alive.

This time, instead of paper sales, it’s all about the paper’s survival, with a determined publisher trying to revive the newsroom’s glory days.

Think workplace comedy meets old-school journalism, sprinkled with a little nostalgia for The Office’s documentary-style magic.

When And How To Watch

  • Premiere Date: September 4, 2025
  • Episode Rollout: Four episodes drop on premiere day, followed by two new episodes every Thursday through September 25
  • Streaming Platform: Peacock

A Creative Dream Team Behind The Scenes

The series is co-created by Greg Daniels (The Office) under his Deedle-Dee Productions banner, alongside Michael Koman (Nathan for You).

Executive producers include comedy heavy-hitters Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.

And with directors like Paul Lieberstein, Ken Kwapis, Jennifer Celotta, and Jeff Blitz — all names familiar to “The Office” fans — “The Paper” is practically guaranteed to deliver sharp writing, laugh-out-loud moments, and memorable characters.

A Cast Packed With Talent

The ensemble cast is as stacked as a Sunday edition:

  • Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, About Time)
  • Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus)
  • Chelsea Frei (Poker Face, The Cleaning Lady)
  • Melvin Gregg (American Vandal, Snowfall)
  • Gbemisola Ikumelo (Black Ops, A League of Their Own)
  • Alex Edelman (Just For Us, Unfrosted)
  • Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever, Santa Clarita Diet)
  • Tim Key (The Witchfinder)
  • Oscar Nuñez (The Office, The Proposal)

Guest stars include Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, and Nancy Lenehan — so expect plenty of delightful surprises along the way.
