As music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs sits behind bars awaiting trial on serious federal sex crime charges, new sexual assault allegations have surfaced, adding even more weight to his legal troubles.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, a woman named Thalia Graves filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, accusing Combs and his former head of security, Joseph Sherman, of raping her back in the summer of 2001 at the Bad Boy Records studio in New York City.
According to the complaint, Graves, now 48, alleges the assault was recorded on video, and the traumatic event has haunted her ever since, leading to suicidal thoughts and severe mental health struggles.
At an emotional press conference, Graves broke down as she recounted the pain of the alleged attack, stating it left her feeling “worthless and isolated.”
She explained how the experience goes beyond physical harm, describing a deep emotional toll that has impacted her mental health for decades, including PTSD, flashbacks, and nightmares.
“I’m glad Diddy is locked up,” she said, though adding that it was only “a temporary feeling of relief.”
Graves’ attorney, Gloria Allred, announced that they will be pursuing both compensatory and punitive damages, though the exact amount will be determined at trial.
The lawsuit paints a disturbing picture, alleging that Combs exploited Graves’ relationship with one of his employees to manipulate her into meeting him and Sherman alone.
After allegedly being drugged, she says she woke up bound and restrained, only to realize she was being brutally assaulted both anally and vaginally.
The lawsuit further claims that the horrific attack was recorded and that Combs and Sherman had shown or sold the video as pornography over the years.
In the aftermath, Graves says she lived in fear of what Combs and Sherman might do if she reported the assault, keeping silent while battling anxiety and depression.
Her emotional state took a nosedive when, in November 2023, she learned about the existence of the recorded footage, deepening her trauma.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, currently in jail after his September 16 arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution, has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting a hearing set for October 9.
His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, remains adamant about his client’s innocence, claiming that Combs will fight these allegations with “all of his energy” and expects a long legal battle ahead.
