Teyana Taylor is adding “chef” to her already stacked resume—and yes, she’s doing it for real!
The multi-talented star has officially enrolled in culinary school to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts and Pastry Arts, fulfilling a childhood dream she’s carried in her heart for years.
On social media, Teyana shared the big news with a heartfelt (and hilarious) post that had us smiling from ear to ear.
She shouted out her friend Alexis Stoudemire for inspiring her to take the leap, writing:
“Went into my first day of Culinary school with a banggggggg… a dream I’ve carried in my heart for so long is finally becoming a reality and I’m feeling every bit of it.”
🍰 From Harlem’s “Hood Betty Crocker” To Culinary Queen
Teyana gave fans a glimpse into her long-standing love for the kitchen, revealing that she was baking for her Harlem neighbors as early as 13 years old.
“By the time I was 13/14, I was the ‘hood Betty Crocker’ in Harlem baking cakes for the neighbors and anyone who asked. 😩 Ya girl was ah hustlaaaaaahhhh & that spark never left me.”
She spoke passionately about how cooking and baking became more than hobbies—they were her therapy, her peace, and her safe space throughout the twists and turns of life, motherhood, and a non-stop career.
“Now, I get to take this love even deeper… I’m officially stepping into the world of culinary and pastry arts. Not just as a passion, but as a purpose.”

With her “Escape Room” album still heating up playlists, it looks like Taylor is stirring up more than just music. She’s now manifesting meals, plating peace, and seasoning purpose—one course at a time.

In a heartwarming video, Teyana also shared her first day of school with her adorable daughter Junie, who’s clearly her biggest cheerleader.
Junie was right by her side in the kitchen—and let’s be honest, looking just like her daddy, Iman Shumpert.
