HBO has officially released the teaser trailer for “Task“, a gritty new crime drama from Brad Ingelsby, the creator of the Emmy-winning “Mare of Easttown.”
The seven-episode HBO Original series premieres debuts Sunday, September 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
Set in the working-class neighborhoods of Philadelphia, “Task” follows an FBI agent (played by Mark Ruffalo) who heads up a special Task Force targeting a string of violent robberies.
The twist? The crew’s leader is an unsuspecting family man portrayed by Tom Pelphrey (Ozark, Love & Death), and let’s just say… things get complicated fast.

Alongside Ruffalo and Pelphrey, the series features an incredible lineup including:
Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Thuso Mbedu, Alison Oliver, Fabien Frankel, Raúl Castillo, Phoebe Fox, and Martha Plimpton.
With Brad Ingelsby as creator/showrunner and executive producers like Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Jeremiah Zagar in the director’s chair, “Task” is already shaping up to be one of fall’s most anticipated crime dramas.
