Tamar Braxton Details Gruesome Injury With Help From Cosmetic Dentist
Tamar Braxton is speaking out after a traumatic and terrifying incident left her with fractured teeth and a broken nose.
The “Love and War” singer enlisted Miami-based cosmetic dentist Dr. Amira Ogunleye to help restore her smile, and together, they’ve released a video detailing what happened and what’s next in Tamar’s recovery.
In the documentary-style clip, Dr. Amira recounted the moment she was contacted by Tamar’s team following the shocking incident.
“She woke up in a pool full of blood and saw many fractured teeth on her floor,” Dr. Amira explained. “She flew to me immediately. Within 24 hours.”
After evaluating her injuries, Dr. Amira confirmed that Tamar had multiple fractured teeth, a completely dislodged “uls” tooth, and signs of a fractured septum.
Immediate oral surgery was performed to stabilize her condition, but the journey to full recovery will require several more appointments and specialized care.
Could Sleepwalking Be To Blame?
One of the most puzzling aspects of Tamar Braxton’s ordeal is that no one (including Tamar) knows exactly how it happened.
Dr. Amira revealed that medical professionals ruled out stroke and seizure as potential causes.
The current theory? Somnambulism, commonly known as sleepwalking.
“Oftentimes in cases of sleepwalking, the person has no memory or recollection of what they’ve done. They can walk, move, even injure themselves… and not remember,” said Dr. Amira.
While the explanation might seem far-fetched to some, Dr. Amira emphasized that Tamar’s situation presents a rare but teachable moment for others.
She even offered first-aid tips for handling an avulsed tooth (that’s a tooth knocked completely out of its socket): pick it up by the crown, rinse with milk or saline, reinsert if possible, or store it in milk or the cheek until you can get to a dentist.
The goal now is to restore Tamar’s smile and preserve the gift that makes her one of the most celebrated voices in R&B.
“It is imperative. People’s smiles are so much bigger than just the aesthetic,” said Dr. Amira. “For her, this is her gift to all of us…her beautiful voice.”

Funky Dineva Comes Out Swinging On Instagram
Meanwhile, Tamar Braxton’s feud with Funky Dineva continues to heat up online.
While Tamar didn’t name names, she dropped some shady subliminals via her Instagram Story:
“Did all that hating and gossiping about me and still couldn’t stop 💩. I’d be mad too. 😂😂.”
Funky Dineva, who previously came under scrutiny as the last person seen with Tamar before the incident, wasted no time clapping back with a brutal Instagram post that read in part:
Shouldn’t you be somewhere recovering or waiting on a blood transfusion, since you almost died and woke up in a pool of blood?
Your ‘near death’ experience sure as hell didn’t leave you grateful to be alive enough to the point where you would stop being messy, dramatic and desperately seeking attention.
He went even further by suggesting Tamar get drunk and “take them crazy pills” again, warning her directly:
This is your second warning.
I suggest you go on about your snaggle tooth business.
