Florida Gators forward Keyontae Johnson collapsed on the court coming out of a timeout less than five minutes into a game against the Florida State Seminoles.

Watch video below:

Johnson was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he is reportedly in critical but stable condition. His coach Mike White joined him after the game.

The referee gave coach White the option to stop the game after Johnson collapsed, but coach White left it up to the players who decided to continue the game.

Whatever they thought was in the best interest of their team, then I would accept it.

My administration asked me, and I told them we would be OK with whatever they decided. It was my understanding that they wanted to play.

Before Johnson collapsed he had just finished an alley-oop on a pass from teammate Tyree Appleby. It is still unknown what caused Johnson to collapse, but there is speculation that it may have been from myocarditis, a viral infection of the heart muscle.

Myocarditis can be an aftereffect of the Coronavirus, and Johnson and most of his teammates have previously tested positive for Coronavirus.

After Johnson collapsed players on both teams were crying, hugging one another, and praying.

The Florida Gators loss the game 83-71 as they played with heavy hearts thinking about their teammate.

Johnson is a leading candidate for SEC Player of the Year, and he is considered an NBA prospect. He averaged 14 points per game last year, and he is averaging 19.7 points per game this year.

His parents flew in from Norfolk, Virginia to be by his side, and his coach requested that we keep praying for Keyontae Johnson and his family.

We pray that Johnson makes a full recovery, and he is able to continue to pursue his NBA dreams.
