While Sony Pictures is pushing most of their films back to 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Fatherhood, starring Kevin Hart, is getting an early release.
The drama is based on the true story of a man navigating life as a single father after the unexpected death of his wife, who died a day after giving birth.
Fatherhood was slated to be released on January 15, 2021, but now that Sony has cleared their calendar, the film will be released on October 23, 2020.
Kevin took to social media while filming Fatherhood to share a special experience:
This encounter floored me…this is my 2nd movie that I have done that has been based off of a true story.
The 1st was the “The Upside” which was an unbelievable story….Now I’m doing “Fatherhood” which is a movie based off of Matthew Logelin’s life. What this man has been thru is unreal….he is the definition of Tru strength in my eyes…he lost his wife after she delivered their baby at the hospital.
His life took a turn that he never saw coming….while facing his darkest moment in his life he was left with the responsibility of raising his child. Nobody believed in him or his ability to step up to the plate…but he did it.
It was hard and grueling but he found a way to pour all of the love he had into his daughter “Madeline ” because that’s what his wife would have wanted him to do….Matt & Maddy came to visit us on set today…both of their smiles bought a different type of energy to our set.
I’m in awe of their story and even more so of this opportunity. Their bond is inseparable and rightfully so. I can’t wait for the world to see what this man and his daughter made it thru…..#Fatherhood #ComingSoon #MeAndMelodyAreDoingOurBestToMakeYouProud ….Trust me when I tell you that this is a movie that we all need to see. The movie gives an amazing Message to ALL FATHERS ??

Kevin Hart did a wonderful job in The Upside, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what he does in Fatherhood.
How about you?
