🚨 Serious Allegations Surface Against Smokey Robinson
Smokey Robinson, the legendary Motown icon whose music helped define an era, is now facing deeply troubling accusations from four former employees who allege repeated sexual assault, harassment, and abuse spanning over a decade.
In a civil lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, May 6, the 85-year-old singer, songwriter, and former Motown executive is accused of sexual battery, false imprisonment, gender violence, and creating a hostile work environment.
The plaintiffs, identified only as Jane Doe 1 through 4, each worked in the Robinson household—some for as long as 18 years—and claim the abuse took place in multiple locations, including the Robinsons’ home in Chatsworth and a residence in Las Vegas.
📝 What The Lawsuit Claims
According to the complaint, the women describe years of traumatic experiences:
- Jane Doe 1 worked from March 2023 to February 2024 and alleges “repeated sexual assaults and harassment” beginning shortly after she was hired.
- Jane Doe 2 claims she was forced to resign in 2020 after enduring similar abuse that started in 2016.
- Jane Doe 3, a housekeeper from 2012 to April 2024, alleges Robinson raped her “at least 20 times” and forced her to lie face-down on a towel.
- Jane Doe 4 worked from 2006 to 2024 as a housekeeper, cook, hairdresser, and assistant to Frances Robinson. She alleges the first assault happened in 2007 during a trip to Las Vegas.
Each woman states they feared reporting the abuse due to threats to their livelihoods or immigration status.
👩🏽💼 Frances Robinson Also Named In Lawsuit
Frances Robinson, Smokey’s wife of nearly two decades, is also named in the lawsuit.
The plaintiffs claim she was aware of the abuse and failed to take action, allegedly enabling what they describe as Robinson’s “deviant misconduct.”
The suit also accuses her of hostile and offensive behavior toward the women.
The plaintiffs are seeking at least $50 million in damages, and their attorneys are expected to hold a press conference in downtown Los Angeles.
