The family of Shanquella Robinson is heartbroken and desperately seeking the truth about her death.
The 25-year-old North Carolina entrepreneur traveled to Cabo, Mexico with friends for a birthday celebration last month and was dead within 24 hours of her arrival.
Shanquella’s mother, Salamondra Robinson, told Queen City News, “She told me they had a chef. They were getting ready to eat. They were eating tacos or a salad or something, and I said, ‘OK. I love you. Have a good night, and I will talk to you tomorrow.’ I never talked to my child again. She never made it back home.”
Everything seemed to be fine until Salamondra received a frantic call from Shanquella’s friends.
“They said she wasn’t feeling well. She had alcohol poisoning,” she said.
“They couldn’t get a pulse,” she continued. “Each one of the people that was there with her was telling different stories.”
When the Robinson family made calls to the FBI and Mexican authorities, they learned Shanquella’s true cause of death.
“When the autopsy came back, they said it didn’t have anything to do with the alcohol,” Salamondra said.
“They said that she had a broken neck and her spine in the back was cracked. She had been beaten.”
The group of friends returned from Mexico, leaving Shanquella Robinson’s body there.
It took two weeks and $6,000 to get Shanquella’s body back home to her family and they will not stop until they get the truth about what happened to her and justice.
“I know that’s not going to bring my child back, but I want something done about it,” she said.
Video has now surfaced online which allegedly shows a woman brutally beating Shanquella, who is nude and appears to be intoxicated.
A man, who is filming, is heard saying to Shanquella, “Can you at least fight back.”
She responds, “No,” as she is taking punches and kicks to the head and is being thrown to the floor.
