In a moment of reflection, Sha’Carri Richardson revealed she regrets the interview she did after testing positive for marijuana use which ultimately disqualified her from competing in the 2020 Olympics.
The track and field star took to Twitter and shared a clip of her exclusive interview with the “Today Show” where she spoke about the failed test and learning of her biological mother’s passing.
During the interview, Sha’Carri said:
I just want to take responsibility for my actions, I know what I did, I know what I’m supposed to do, I’m allowed not to do and I still made that decision.
I’m not making an excuse or looking for any empathy in my case.
The track star now says she wishes she had the choice to tell her story when she was ready.
I wish I never did this. I wish I had the choice when it was time for me to tell my story.
See her original tweet below.
Hopefully, at some point, Sha’Carri Richardson will be able to tell her story at the time and place she sees fit.
