In Sarah’s Oil, faith, courage, and history flow together in one truly inspiring film.

The forthcoming drama tells the incredible true story of Sarah Rector, a young African American girl from Oklahoma who became one of the nation’s first Black female millionaires at just eleven years old.

Set in the early 1900s Oklahoma Indian Territory, the movie follows Sarah as she dares to believe there’s oil buried beneath the dusty land she’s been allotted.

Against all odds, and as greedy oil prospectors close in, her unwavering faith leads her to unimaginable fortune.

But as her wealth grows, so does the fight to protect it and her freedom to decide her own future.

Naya Desir-Johnson absolutely shines as Sarah Rector.

Her performance is equal parts innocence and wisdom, portraying a child who, as my grandmother used to say, “has been here before.”

She carries this film with grace, power, and authenticity that lingers long after the credits roll.

Zachary Levi delivers a standout performance as Bert, a charming con man whose pursuit of money leads him straight to a life-changing encounter with young Sarah.

Their dynamic is magnetic, and every scene they share is filled with humor, heart, and unexpected lessons about redemption and purpose.

The film also boasts an impressive supporting cast including Sonequa Martin-Green, Garret Dillahunt, Mel Rodriguez, Kenric Green, and Bridget Regan, all of whom bring depth to this moving story of faith and fortune.

When Sarah’s Oil hits theaters Friday, November 7, make sure to bring tissues and an open heart.

It’s a film that reminds us what can happen when we listen to God, trust His plan, and take bold action on the dreams He places in our hearts.

Sarah’s Oil is an emotional 10 out of 10, proof that faith doesn’t just move mountains—it can strike oil, too.

Frens, do you plan to take the family to see the film this weekend?
