Rod Wave’s Legal Battle: What You Need to Know
Rod Wave, born Rodarius Green, is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The 26-year-old rapper has found himself facing 14 charges tied to a burglary at his Georgia home.
After turning himself in to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, May 20, Rod was released on bond.
The charges stem from a police report filed on Monday, April 21, in Milton, Georgia.
What Are the Charges Against Rod Wave?
Rod Wave is facing a range of serious charges, including aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies.
There are also multiple counts of reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
The trouble began when police responded to a 911 call reporting a possible domestic disturbance at Green’s home.
A neighbor had seen a woman crying and heard yelling, which prompted the authorities to investigate.
When they arrived, officers found a gold Mercedes SUV with bullet holes, as well as a black Rolls-Royce with a bullet hole.
The Burglary Details: What Happened?
Rod’s girlfriend reportedly returned home to find the place had been burglarized.
Officers discovered a handgun, a broken window, and a hammer near the pool, along with a large safe in the basement that had been dragged across the floor and emptied.
While there were no immediate suspects linked to the burglary or gunfire, the investigation quickly turned toward Green, and arrest warrants were issued.
Rod Wave’s Lawyer Responds
Rod’s lawyer, Drew Findling, has firmly denied the charges, calling them unfounded.
“Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes,” Findling said in a statement.
“How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.”
A Glimpse Into Rod Wave’s Past
This isn’t Rod Wave’s first run-in with the law.
Back in 2020, he was charged with domestic battery after an altercation with an ex-girlfriend.
However, the charge was dismissed in 2022, and the case was ultimately not pursued.
