Ricky Martin has the streets of the internet on fire after a report claims the singer was in a 7-month relationship with his 21-year-old nephew.
In case you missed it, Puerto Rican authorities issued a restraining order against Ricky under the U.S. territory’s domestic violence laws on July 1, 2022.
El Vocero, a Puerto Rican newspaper, reported an unnamed petitioner, who had ended a seven-month relationship with the singer, bypassed filing a police complaint and went directly to the court seeking the restraining order.
According to court documents cited by the publication, Ricky Martin had refused to accept the petitioner’s decision to call things off and he continued to make frequent, unwanted contact with the person.
The Associated Press reported police confirmed that the restraining order had been filed under Law 54, Puerto Rico’s Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act.
Police spokesman Axel Valencia told The Associated Press that the order prohibits Martin from contacting or calling the person who filed it and that a judge will later determine at a hearing whether the order should remain in place or be lifted.
Now, Ricky has been married to his husband Jwan Yosef since 2017, so the whole “after ending a seven-month relationship” factor began to raise eyebrows.
Ricky and Jwan were just livin la vida loca together at the amfAR Gala in Cannes this past May.
Unless they have an open marriage, this seven-month situation was on the low and went terribly wrong.
The singer took to Twitter on July 3 and called the allegations against him “completely false.”
The protection order entered against me is based on completely false allegation, so I will respond through the judicial process with the facts and the dignity that characterize me.
Because it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make detailed statements at this time.
I am grateful for the countless messages of solidarity, and I receive them with all my heart.
Ricky Martin.

Now, I don’t know if it was a slow news day or the site needed to generate traffic for revenue, but Marca, a Spanish national daily newspaper, reported that the petitioner who filed the restraining order against Ricky is allegedly his 21-year-old nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.
Marca reports Ricky allegedly “exercised physical and psychological attacks” on Dennis during their relationship.
IF this report is accurate, Ricky Martin could potentially face 50 years in prison under Puerto Rico’s incest laws.
Again, I have not been able to find a credible source to confirm the victim is the singer’s nephew.
But, that didn’t stop Ricky Martin’s name from ringing off in the streets of Twitter as people react to the report.
One person wrote:
Hold TF on Ricky Martin was f**king his nephew and abusing him then when he broke up with him he started stalking him and he got a protection order and now Ricky might be going to jail for 50 years because of the incest law in PR WTF why are y’all having sex with family members?
Another person tweeted:
So Ricky Martin is not related to his nephew by blood (step-sister’s son) and the nephew was 21 at the time of the alleged affair but STILL…WTF Ricky?! I mean YUCK. You don’t f**k family. Even step-family. Or then STALK them later.

I know this is a lot to digest, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
