📰 Here’s What Went Down With Robert Griffin III, Angel Reese & Social Media’s Wrath
Frens, with all due respect… WTF is really going on with Robert Griffin III?
The former NFL quarterback turned commentator is catching serious heat across social media, and this time, the internet ain’t overreacting.
Robert Griffin III, also known as RG3, is under fire for reposting a racist, edited image of WNBA star Angel Reese, only to turn around and make the situation about him.
The swoop down was swift, with sports fans, advocates, and fellow athletes including Ryan Clark gathering him like Sunday dinner leftovers.
Let’s get into it…
👟 Angel Reese Makes History With NBA 2K26 & Reebok Deal

On Wednesday, Angel Reese scored a huge win when she was announced as the cover athlete for the WNBA Edition of NBA 2K26.
And to level up the celebration, her signature shoe, the Angel Reese 1, was unveiled on the cover in partnership with Reebok.

In a statement, Reese shared:
Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and debuting my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok on that cover, the Angel Reese 1, is more than a milestone — it’s a statement.
It’s about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically.
It was a proud Black Girl Magic moment, until someone took it upon themselves to edit the image and depict Angel as a monkey on the game cover.
💻 RG3 Shares Racist Image, Then Centers Himself In The Narrative
Instead of simply condemning the image and using his massive platform to support Angel, Robert Griffin III reposted the edited photo and launched into a self-centered thread that added fuel to the fire.
Here’s a roundup of his tweets:
“There is no place for racism in this world. Whether you like a player or not, Angel Reese should never be called or depicted as a monkey.”
“I have been quiet on the Angel Reese front because she shared a video that aided in my wife, kids, family and friends receiving death threats, threats of physical harm, and threats of sexual violence to my children.”
“I never attacked her or her family when I stated, and backed up with clear basketball evidence, that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark. It’s sports. Everybody won’t like each other.”
“People in Angel’s inner circle called me and told me I was right, and Angel Reese has grown to hate Caitlin Clark because the media is always asking her about Caitlin and constantly comparing the two.”
“If you hate Angel Reese because she is Black, you are the problem. If you hate Angel Reese because you are a Caitlin Clark fan, don’t turn it racial.”
“There should be no space for racism in this world. There is a wrong side and a right side. I will stay on the right side of history and support all people.”
Frens, he tried to take a stand… but somehow turned it into a TED Talk about himself.
🧃 Angel Reese Claps Back With A Simple “Aht Aht”
Angel didn’t waste any time shutting things down.
She tweeted:
“lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work.”

Short. Sharp. Effective.
📞 Dr. Bernice King Offers Direct Advice To RG3
Even Dr. Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., weighed in and offered some wise and very public counsel.
She tweeted:
“I agree. That’s why I suggest you call Angel Reese and stop posting about her.”

Whew. That’s what you call grown folk business.
👑 Ryan Clark Reads RG3 For Filth With Grace
Then came Ryan Clark, who delivered a powerful, thoughtful, and direct response.
In a now-viral video clip, he called out RG3 for failing to simply protect a Black woman under attack and choosing instead to become the center of the story:
“A graphic I only saw on his page… millions of followers can see this, and it should be easy to defend her… but he couldn’t do that. He had to make himself both the victim and the hero of this story.”
Clark didn’t hold back.
He addressed RG3’s fixation on Angel Reese, his obsession with appearing morally superior, and his tendency to weaponize proximity to whiteness.
“If you never support people that look like you, you are also a part of the problem.”
Talk yo talk, King!
