Regina King is trending in the streets of social media as people react to her being snubbed by the Oscars for Best Director.
Regina’s directorial feature film debut, One Night in Miami, is a fictional account of one incredible night where icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered discussing their roles in the Civil Rights Movement and cultural upheaval of the 60s.
The film scooped three nominations:
- Actor In A Supporting Role (Leslie Odom, Jr.)
- Adapted Screenplay
- Original Song (“Speak Now” – Leslie Odom, Jr. and Sam Ashworth)
But, that Best Director snub is what has folks outraged!
