(This post contains plot spoilers!) The “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” Season 4 finale has the streets of social media buzzing after fans were introduced to a pivotal character in the Power universe—while we may be saying goodbye to another.

‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Season 4 Recap

In Season 4, Unique returned from the dead like the Ghost of Christmas Past—moving in silence like the G in lasagna and dropping bodies like a pandemic.

Fans watched Jukebox’s descent into darkness after she officially stepped over to the bad side.

After putting in the work to heal his mind, body, and soul from his demons and alcoholism, Lou found himself right back in the game as Raq’s muscle.

Raising Kanan” fans are breathing a sigh of relief that Marvin survived another season. But his side gigs for Stefano and sloppy decisions drove a wedge between him and Raq.

Snap and Pops played puppet master like pros.

Not only did they introduce Kanan to their nephew Breeze (played by Shameik Moore)—a key figure in the “Power” universe who helped bring Kanan, Ghost, and Tommy into the game—but they also planted enough seeds to grow a whole garden of confusion in Kanan’s head about his mother.

In the final scene of the “Raising Kanan” Season 4 finale, Kanan stood in Raq’s kitchen with a gun pointed at her, accusing her of taking everyone he ever cared about in an attempt to keep his love all to herself.

Then… a gunshot rang out as the credits rolled.

Did Kanan Kill Raq?

At first, I thought “Raising Kanan” was just trying to send us into a spiral with the idea that Raq (played by Patina Miller) might’ve been killed by her own son.

Let’s be real—”Power” has never been shy about going all-out when it comes to shocking character deaths (or fake-outs).

We’ve seen adult Kanan survive a warehouse fire, Lou survive a house fire, Unique get brutally beaten and left for dead by his brother Ronnie, and Marvin walk away from a near-fatal gunshot wound.

And now… Raq is staring down the barrel of a gun held by her grieving (and goofy) son.

Did Kanan really kill his mama?!
