A tragic incident unfolded at a Wawa in Delaware County, where a pregnant woman was fatally shot following an argument with another woman on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The altercation occurred at the Wawa located on MacDade Boulevard in Collingdale, leaving 32-year-old Latoya Davis dead from a gunshot wound.
According to the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office, the confrontation escalated outside the Wawa around 7:20 p.m.
Surveillance footage captured the moment when Evelena Williams, 30, allegedly fired a shot at Davis as she attempted to flee.
Emergency personnel pronounced Davis dead at the scene just minutes later.
Authorities also confirmed that Davis, who is already a mother of two, was pregnant at the time of her death.
Evelena Williams, who admitted to the shooting, informed police that she was licensed to carry a firearm and placed her gun inside her vehicle after the incident.
The weapon was later recovered by investigators.
Williams is now facing multiple charges, including criminal homicide, recklessly endangering another person, first- and third-degree murder, as well as the murder of LaToya Davis’ unborn child.
She is currently being held without bail at the Delaware County Prison, with no legal representation listed in court records.
This devastating loss has shocked the Collingdale community and highlights the tragic consequences of gun violence.
