Power fans, it’s time to rise up — because “Power: Origins” is officially on the way!

Starz just greenlit the highly anticipated prequel series, which will take us deep into the early days of Ghost and Tommy’s street empire.

Yep, the duo that started it all is finally getting their origin story, and it’s about to be rambunctious.

Let’s break down everything we know so far.

A New Chapter In The Power Universe

Power: Origins” marks the fifth series in the ever-expanding “Power” franchise and the second prequel after “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.”

This new addition will consist of 18 episodes for its first season — and yes, that’s a whole lot of drama and backstory to unpack.

Sascha Penn, the mastermind behind “Raising Kanan,” will return as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Meanwhile, “Power” creator Courtney A. Kemp is co-creating the pilot, reuniting with her original vision in a way fans have been craving for years.

What’s Power: Origins About?

According to Starz, “Power: Origins” will follow a young Ghost and Tommy hustling through the streets of New York, determined to leave their mark and become legends in the game.

It’s described as a “fun, rambunctious exploration” of their rise — expect grit, ambition, betrayal, and that classic Power intensity.

Casting for young Ghost and Tommy hasn’t been announced yet (cue fan-casting debates), but we do know MeKai Curtis will reprise his role as a young Kanan Stark.

That’s right — Kanan is coming with them.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who originally played Kanan and continues to executive produce the franchise, will also remain behind the scenes.

The Breeze Effect: Will We See Him Again?

If you caught the “Raising Kanan” Season 4 finale, you already met Branford “Breeze” Frady, played by Shameik Moore.

Breeze has long been a whispered name in “Power” lore, and now we may finally see how his story collides with Ghost’s rise.

With “Raising Kanan” wrapping up in Season 5 (expected in 2026), there’s a strong chance we’ll see Moore pop back up in “Power: Origins.”

The streets have ears… and they’re buzzing.

Why Fans Are Hyped

Let’s be real — the backstories of Ghost and Tommy have fueled years of theories, rewatches, and wild speculation.

From college plug rumors to early power plays, the streets have always wanted answers.

Sascha Penn knows that too.

“Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fueled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans,” he said.

“I’m thrilled to be able to answer some long-held questions and share new layers of the story that viewers won’t see coming.”

Starz Is Going All In On Power

Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming at Starz, made it clear: this isn’t just a prequel, it’s a power move.

“Our fans have been asking for Ghost and Tommy’s origin story since we first met them in Power — and with the launch of this series, we’re delivering in a big way,” she said.

“This marks an electrifying new chapter in the franchise’s evolution.”

And she’s not wrong.

From the OG “Power” to “Ghost,” “Raising Kanan,” “Force,” and now “Origins,” the franchise continues to deliver twists, betrayals, and unforgettable characters.

Oh, and don’t forget — “Power: Legacy” is also in the works.

It’s reportedly set after the events of “Force,” which is heading into its final season later this year.
