Oregon Car Thief Threatens To Call Cops On Mom Who Left Her Son In The Backseat

An Oregon man stole Crystal Leary’s car from a Meat Market while her 4-year-old son was in the backseat, and he had the nerve to threaten to call the police on her for leaving her son in the car.

He must’ve forgot that he was the one committing the crime.

The incident took place in Beaverton, Oregon around 9 p.m.

Crystal left her son in her Honda Pilot, with the engine running and the doors unlocked, while she ran in the market to quickly make her purchase.

According to the police reports, Crystal was in the market for a few minutes when someone drove off with her SUV.

Once the thief realized a child was in the backseat, he returned to the market and threatened to call the police on Crystal for leaving her son in the backseat, and then he drove off again.

Officer Matt Henderson was perplexed by the thief’s logic.

He actually lectured the mother for leaving the child in the car and threatened to call the police on her.

Officer Henderson said Crystal didn’t do anything wrong.

What she did was not a crime. She was within sight and sound of her child.

But she left the car running. So take that extra step, take the keys with you. It’s a good reminder to take extra precautions when we have our little ones with us.

Obviously, we’re thankful he brought the little one back and had the decency to do that.

Police found the vehicle a few hours later, but the thief has not been found. He is believed to be in his 20s or 30s with dark brown or black braided hair, and a multicolored face mask.
