A Heartbreaking Loss For The NYPD Family
Tragedy has struck the NYPD community as Detective Alicia Stone, a 40-year-old mother of three and respected officer in the Internal Affairs Bureau, has passed away just a week after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and liposuction procedure in Colombia.
According to reports, Alicia was found unresponsive in her hotel room around 6:30 a.m. last Thursday and was rushed to Fundación Valle del Lili Hospital in Cali.
Sadly, she was pronounced dead just over an hour later.
Her cause of death was listed as “unspecified cardiac arrest.”
Husband Seeks Answers After Sudden Passing
Alicia’s husband, Michael Stone, is heartbroken and determined to uncover the truth behind his wife’s unexpected passing.
Speaking with The Daily News, he shared, “The doctor who called me from Colombia just told me my wife had passed away. Something just doesn’t add up.”
He added, “To be called Thursday and told that she passed away, that is just shocking and hurtful. I don’t have the facts, and that’s what I need, the facts of what happened.”
Michael revealed that Alicia seemed “perfectly fine” before the surgery and even reassured relatives that she was recovering well the day before she passed.

Alicia’s colleagues and loved ones describe her as a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a dedicated public servant who spent over 13 years protecting New Yorkers.
A fundraiser for her family states, “Alicia’s kindness, courage, and compassion touched everyone she met, both in and out of uniform.
Her unexpected passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of her family, friends, and fellow officers.”
Authorities have contacted the Colombian National Police, the U.S. State Department, and consular services as part of the ongoing investigation.
Reports also indicate that an NYPD detective has been sent to Colombia to help uncover what really happened.
