NBA analyst Glenn Consor took to Twitter to apologize to Houston Rockets player Kevin Porter Jr. for making insensitive comments about his dad, Kevin Porter Sr.

Kevin Porter Jr. hit a game-winning 3-pointer last night (January 5), and Glenn Consor, who was commentating the Washington Wizards vs. the Houston Rockets game at the time, said live on the air:

Kevin Porter Jr., like his dad, pulled that trigger right at the right time.

Watch the video below:

The problem with Consor’s statement is that Kevin Porter Sr. was charged with first-degree murder for shooting a 14-year-old girl in 1993.

Kevin Porter Sr. claimed the shooting was accidental, and a witness who initially said the shooting was intentional later recanted her statement.

Porter Sr. pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, and he spent four and a half years in jail.

Consor claims he was unaware of Porter Sr.’s history, and he thought Porter Jr. was the son of former Washington player Kevin Porter.

Many people on Twitter debated if Consor made an honest mistake or if he was intentionally throwing a jab at Kevin Porter Jr.

LeBron James even chimed in on the debate, and he’s not buying it, his tweet implies that he wants Glenn Consor to be fired.

Kevin Porter Sr. died in Seattle in 2004 in a bar incident.

If you were in Kevin Porter Jr.’s shoes would you accept Glenn Consor’s apology?
