Mielle Organics hair care line founder Monique Rodriguez took to social media to reveal that an influencer was allegedly paid to spread false rumors about experiencing hair loss after using their products.
In September, a TikTok user highlighted a 2022 lawsuit filed against Mielle Organics, accusing the company of allegedly using cancer-causing chemicals in its hair strengthening shampoo and violating Prop 65 by failing to properly warn customers of the potential risks.
Things escalated when social media users began sharing their own experiences with Mielle Organics products, reporting issues like hair loss, breakage, and scalp irritation.
The brand’s popular Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil received the most complaints.
In her most recent social media post, Monique shared her shocking discovery:
We recently discovered that the original TikTok creator who sparked all those rumors about Mielle products causing hair loss and falsely claimed that the Rosemary Mint Oil formula had changed—this creator has been paid by one of our competitors.
Yes, this creator is earning a commission to promote a competitor’s product while spreading misinformation about our products for her own personal gain.
And unfortunately, some who joined in on those conversations seem to have ulterior motives as well.

While I believe this is totally possible, my question is about all of the other people who took to socials to share their own experiences with the products.
Perhaps it was group think…
Frens, do you use Mielle Organics? If so, has it helped or harmed your hair?
