Micheal Ward Charged With Rape And Sexual Assault

Micheal Ward, best known for his breakout role in Netflix’s “Top Boy” and his recent appearance in Eddington, has been officially charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault, according to U.K. authorities.

The Metropolitan Police in London confirmed the charges in a statement released on July 25, sharing that the allegations stem from incidents involving one woman in January 2023.

Ward, 27, is scheduled to appear in Thames Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 28.

Details Of The Charges

The Crown Prosecution Service authorized the charges against Ward after reviewing evidence related to the investigation.

While specific details about the alleged incidents have not been publicly disclosed, authorities emphasized that they are committed to supporting the alleged victim.

“Our specialist officers continue to support the woman who has come forward,” said Detective Superintendent Scott Ware.

“We know investigations of this nature can have significant impact on those who make reports.”

The identity of the woman remains confidential.

Ward rose to prominence for his role as Jamie in “Top Boy,” which earned him critical acclaim and a growing fanbase.

He most recently appeared in Eddington, further cementing his place in the U.K. film and television scene.
