Mario took to social media and shared a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Shawntia Hardaway, on her heavenly birthday.
Shawntia, who “struggled with a devastating addiction,” passed away in 2017.
In the post, on his official Instagram page, Mario shared a beautiful photo of his mother along with the caption:
Happy birthday Moms! I don’t like posting about my personal life but this post is also for all the people who loved YOU! We miss you. I miss you.
I still can’t describe the pain mixed with frustration and confusion as to why but I still feel your presence every day. No one will ever know the demons we fought together.
You taught me how to be tough, resilient and fearless in life. Thank you. With all you battled you did the best you could to make sure I wasn’t no p*sssy bout life and that i knew gods gift in ME!
Whatever you wanted you was gone get ya heard. I wish the world could know how brilliant you were. I love you eternally.
