Another “Love Is Blind” couple bites the dust.
Lydia Velez Gonzalez and Milton Johnson, one of the standout couples from “Love Is Blind” Season 5, are officially calling it quits after nearly three years of marriage.
Lydia, 34, opened up about the heartbreaking split during a candid appearance on AD Smith’s podcast, “What’s the Reality?“, on June 11.
And chile… she didn’t hold back.

Lydia Says She “Suffered In Silence”
Lydia revealed that life after the show was anything but a fairytale.
She shared that things have been “tumultuous” since “Love Is Blind,” and after years of trying to make it work, she finally decided to file for divorce from Milton, 27.
According to Lydia, the decision wasn’t sparked by a single issue, but rather a buildup of unresolved problems over the years.
“That said enough for me to know that I needed to share my truth,” she told AD. “I’ve been suffering in silence… it’s been too much to keep quiet.”
From Therapy To “Silent Treatment”
The couple gave marriage counseling a try, but Lydia said the therapy didn’t help.
“I started to question myself. I felt like I was losing my spark,” she admitted.
As things got worse, she recalled Milton accusing her of “nagging” and scolding her in front of his family for wearing swimsuits or “cussing too much.”
Lydia said it all left her feeling small and disrespected.
Despite speculation from viewers, she denied their seven-year age gap or Milton’s time in grad school had anything to do with the divorce.
Instead, Lydia cited a “lack of emotional availability, maturity, support, and communication” on Milton’s part.
“Maybe the internet was right, that he wasn’t ready for marriage,” she said. “I don’t think he was ready to be a husband.”
Lydia Gonzalez’s Health Struggles Took A Toll
In September 2024, Lydia was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness that causes intense body pain and fatigue.
She said the diagnosis “ruined my life” and claimed Milton was emotionally absent during the most difficult period of her health journey.
By March 31, 2025, she says their relationship was “non-existent,” and Milton had been giving her the silent treatment since she asked for a divorce.
Even more awkward? They were still living under the same roof at his parents’ house.
“Trying To Put Back The Pieces That He Broke”
Lydia admitted Milton didn’t know she was doing the podcast, but said she had to speak her truth — no matter how the public might perceive her.
“People idolize him… but I have to do what’s right for me,” she said, adding that despite it all, “I still love him.”
Surprisingly, she also shared that Milton’s parents have been supportive throughout the ordeal.
“They will continue to be Mom and Pops for me. I’m very grateful.”
Lydia now lives with a friend and says she’s fully separated from Milton.
She believes he would’ve “kept dragging the relationship through” because he was comfortable giving her “scraps of attention.”
Still, she’s determined to move forward.
“I’m never gonna settle for less than I deserve,” Lydia said. “I cannot keep being in a place where I’m not wanted. I’m trying to put back the pieces that he broke.”
