Lil Nas X Breaks His Silence After Felony Arrest
After days of legal drama, viral footage, and public speculation, Lil Nas X is finally speaking out following his arrest and weekend stay behind bars.
And let’s just say, his message is short, emotional, and very on-brand.
The 26-year-old Grammy winner took to his Instagram Story to share how he’s doing after the ordeal, telling fans:
Your girl is gonna be okay, boo. Okay?
She’s gonna be all right. She’s gonna be all right. SH*T.
That was f**king terrifying. That was terrifying.
That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be all right.
See the video clip below.
While his tone was light and familiar, the emotion in his voice made it clear this wasn’t just internet drama.
This was a wake-up call.
The Charges He’s Facing
As previously reported, Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, is facing four felony charges stemming from an incident on August 21, when he was seen walking down Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles wearing only his underwear and cowboy boots.
Police were called to the scene after multiple 911 calls described a “nude man in the street.”
According to reports, when officers approached him, Lil Nas X allegedly became aggressive and physically assaulted them.
He was arrested and taken to the hospital, then released into custody.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office later filed the following charges:
- Three counts of battery with injury on a police officer
- One count of resisting an executive officer
Not Guilty Plea And Court Orders
On Monday, Lil Nas X pleaded not guilty during a court appearance where he waived his arraignment.
His bail was set at $75,000, and the judge ordered him to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings as part of his release conditions.
While police initially believed the artist was under the influence at the time of his arrest, his attorney, Christy O’Connor, told Reuters that was not the case and called the entire situation “an aberration in his life.”
What’s Next?
If convicted, the charges Lil Nas X is facing carry serious weight.
Under California law, felony battery on a police officer and resisting arrest can each lead to up to three years in jail and $10,000 in fines.
As of now, no court date has been announced for the next hearing, but the situation is far from over.
Lil Nas X’s return to social media shows that he’s ready to face what’s next with transparency and, of course, a little sass.
But behind the humor and filters is someone who just came out of a deeply unsettling experience.
This is still a developing story, and I’ll keep you updated as more details become available.
Frens, how are you feeling about all this now that Nas has spoken up?
