The Beverly family shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, announcing that the iconic singer and songwriter, born Howard Stanley Beverly, transitioned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
In their heartfelt message, the Beverly family expressed their grief, saying:
“Grieving the loss of a loved one is a deeply personal and emotional experience. During this time, as we are navigating feelings of sorrow, reflection, and remembrance, we kindly ask for privacy and understanding, allowing us the space to grieve in our own way. This period is one of healing, and your respect for our need for solitude is appreciated as we honor the memory of our beloved Howard Stanley Beverly, known to the world as Frankie Beverly.”
The post goes on to celebrate Frankie’s extraordinary life, sharing that he lived for his music, family, and friends, adding, “He lived his life with pure soul as one would say, and for us, no one did it better.” The family ended the statement with a loving reminder to, “Love one another as he would want that for us all.”
Frankie Beverly, born December 6, 1946, in Philadelphia, began his music journey singing gospel before shifting to R&B, eventually founding the legendary band Maze in the 1970s.
Known for timeless hits like “Joy and Pain,” “Before I Let Go,” and “Happy Feelin’s,” Maze earned a devoted fanbase with its smooth, soulful sound.
Frankie’s powerful voice, electrifying stage presence, and unique style made him a beloved figure in the music world.
