Lauryn Hill has the streets of social media buzzing after she got a few things off of her chest.
The 8-time Grammy Award-winning artist is currently on tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her iconic solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
On Saturday night, Lauryn’s tour pulled up to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles…late.
Lauryn introduced her mother and her children to concertgoers and during an impassioned speech, the singer reminded her fans, “Y’all lucky I make it to this stage every night.”
But, L Boogie didn’t stop there.
Lauryn Hill became emotional as she talked about the lack of support she received after the success of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
I don’t do it because they let me do it! I do it because I stand here in the name of God!
God is the one who allows me to do it…who surrounded me with family and community when there was no support.
When the album sold so many records…and no one showed up and said, ‘Hey, would you like to make another one?’
So, I went around the world and I played the same album over and over and over and over and over again.

Lauryn is currently trending in the streets of Twitter (X) as people react to her speech.
One person tweeted, “She is so confusing. What does she mean no one showed up to ask her to make a follow up to ‘Miseducation’? I could have sworn people were CLAMORING for new music. And what does that have to do with being habitually late and disrespectful to your audience?”
Another person wrote, “#FUNFACT: New Ark wrote and produced 13 of the 16 tracks on the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. They had to sue to get their money and royalties which Lauryn settled out of court for. It’s the reason why there has never been a follow up to her album. She can’t write or produce.”

Do you believe the reason why Lauryn Hill never released another solo album was due to lack of support?
