Kim Burrell is trending in the streets of social media as Twitter reacts to the shady and snarky remarks she made while visiting Pastor Brian Carn’s Kingdom Church.
These days it seems like the gospel singer’s controversial remarks and behavior have taken a front seat to her amazing voice.
In the clip that has gone viral on social media, Kim is addressing the congregation and she’s going hard in the paint as if she’s taping a “Shady Church Comedy Jam” for HBO Max.
The video begins with Kim saying, “You got to choose up. Find you some value, you know? Sometimes before we get friends we have to do an interview. ‘How long have you been broke? How many times have you changed your name on your light bill? How many of your bills are in your little cousin’s name? Do you live in a trailer home or a house?”
The gospel singer went on to clarify, “And it’s not about status or material things. It’s just about choices. Life is different now. We’re at church. Thank God that we’re here – those of us who are walking by faith without a mask and no vaccine. We honor the Lord. God is good.”
But she wasn’t done. Kim Burrell continued, “I respect all of the men of God here…Hopefully, we’ll get the chance to meet each other when y’all invite me to come to your church. I’m not as expensive as I seem.”
“I don’t know – maybe you got a little left from your PPP loan. Prayer, praise, and power – you understand,” she said.
From there she moves on to talk about ugly folks who wear church hats to try to hide it.

Another person reacted to the video writing, “And the sad thing is, the church is full of Kim Burrell’s. Folks who are arrogant and narcissistic and go unchecked and become worse in attitude and character. I’ll leave it at that.”
“Kim Burrell is just an example of why many people worship at home. ‘Church’ has become so abusive. So many, say any and everything to their congregation. It has become self-gratifying at its finest,” another person tweeted.
