Adult Swim just pulled a fast one at San Diego Comic-Con by announcing a brand-new adult animated series, “President Curtis,” starring none other than Emmy® Award-winning icon Keith David.
The news dropped during the “Rick and Morty” panel when Keith made a surprise appearance, and let’s just say—the internet hasn’t been the same since.
Now, if you’re like me and loved watching President Andre Curtis hold his own with Rick Sanchez, get ready.
He’s taking center stage in his very own series, and it’s giving big energy, bigger problems, and interdimensional mayhem.
What’s “President Curtis” All About?
Think “The West Wing“—but if the Oval Office also handled ghost infestations, alien negotiations, and the kind of multiverse drama Rick would ghost on purpose.
Keith David reprises his longtime fan-favorite role as President Curtis, the only man in the multiverse who can go toe-to-toe with Rick and still keep his job.
The show follows Curtis and his chaotic White House crew as they try to keep the country (and multiple realities) in one piece.
“‘President Curtis’ has always been a blast to play,” Keith shared.
“Getting to explore his world more deeply in this new series is a dream. I can’t wait for fans to see what kind of chaos he stirs up when Rick isn’t around to steal the spotlight.”

The Creators Behind The Chaos
“President Curtis” comes from the brilliant, slightly unhinged minds of Dan Harmon and James Siciliano—yep, the same executive producers behind “Rick and Morty.”
They’re joined by Danielle Uhlarik, Monica Mitchell, and Steve Levy as executive producers.
Harmon and Siciliano said it best: “Curtis is the only person in the multiverse who can go toe-to-toe with Rick and still hold office… and with Keith David leading the charge, it’s going to be a wild ride.”
Yes, please.
The Cast Is Giving
Alongside Keith David, the voice cast includes Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Jim Rash (Community), which means this show isn’t just funny—it’s got Emmy-level range.
Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen added, “This is a series we would have greenlit even if it didn’t have anything to do with Rick and Morty. President Curtis is just that good of a character.”

Until then, I’ll be mentally preparing for Keith David to deliver presidential speeches about time travel and zombie outbreaks—and do it flawlessly.
