While speaking at a private listening event, K. Michelle, also known as Puddin, opened up about the inspiration behind the country tune:
A lot of you guys know… y’all know that [Jack Daniels] is my best friend.
Oh my God, we’ve gotten through so much. I know everyone drinks whiskey and things like that. I get it.
But it’s a deeper thing. It’s one of my biggest accomplishments being the first African-American ever endorsed by them.
So, that’s my man… so I wanted to do a song to my man.
On the track, K. Michelle pours her heart into the lyrics, singing:

I’ll be damned if he ain’t the only man I trust
