Jurnee Smollett took to social media to remember and pay tribute to her dear friend and “Lovecraft Country” co-star Michael K. Williams on what would have been his 55th birthday.
Initially, Jurnee posted a photo of herself, Michael, and Jonathan Majors with the caption, “Happy birthday, my brother. I miss you so.”
Later in the day, she shared another post with more photos from the set of “Lovecraft Country” with the caption:
The last few years have been filled with such extreme highs and lows.
In the midst of all the blessings and highs, a certain amount of heartbreak, heartache has been a constant companion of mine.
It’s been a struggle and a bit of a mindf*ck to hold space for both. The blessings and the heartache. Alas. That is life.
Today, feeling a lot. Mostly missing this beautiful man, the beautiful life, the beautiful art we created.
Some things I’ll just never understand. While I’ll always miss the “us” we were, and my heart is hurting, I’m thankful for the time I had you as mine.
Love you for life @bkbmg. ❤️????
