Jason Weaver’s Birthday Shoutout Gone Left
Jason Weaver had folks on the internet gasping and clutching their pearls after his social media post wishing The-Dream a Happy Birthday left some people thinking the Lord had called him home.
What threw fans off was the photo “The Chi” star chose to use in the tribute.
The image was black and white and looked eerily similar to something you’d see during the Emmys’ In Memoriam segment, if The-Dream even made it to the televised portion.

Social Media Reactions And Weaver’s Clapback
The comments section went up immediately with confused fans asking if The-Dream had passed away.
Realizing the panic he caused, Jason Weaver jumped in with a response that was equal parts humorous and clarifying.
He wrote:
“Well, gotDAMN!! Why does EVERYONE automatically assume the worst whenever they may happen to see a pic of a brotha in black and white.
I was unaware on social media that it comes across as someone transitioning over. 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😂💯💯💯💯
Just to be clear though.. My bro Dream is STILL here with us, and STILL outchea gettin to this money!! 😂💯
He GOOD!! 😂💯 My bad, @thekingdream! I just thought it was a nice pic, that’s all. 🤷🏾♂️😂😂😂👊🏾💯💯💯”
Translation: The-Dream is alive, well, and still cashing checks.
Turning A Viral Oops Into A Hustle
But Jason didn’t just clear the air, he pulled a veteran move and flipped the mishap into a hustle.
Jason used the moment to plug his Cameo account, encouraging fans to book him for personal shoutouts, greetings, and celebratory messages.
In his follow-up, he joked about needing “social media etiquette lessons” and asked fans to help him improve by requesting shoutouts on Cameo.
If nothing else, Jason proved he knows how to turn a slip-up into an opportunity.
