Janet Hubert took to the streets of Twitter on Tuesday with an interesting take on the tragic shooting on the set of Rust that involved Alec Baldwin.
Alec fatally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and injured director Joel Souza, when he was given a prop gun that had a live round in it.
Janet Hubert took to Twitter to share she believes Alec was set up by “Trumpsters” in retaliation for his Donald Trump impersonations on “Saturday Night Live.”
Am I crazy, but my first thought was Baldwin was given this gun on purpose from someone to get back at him for his Trump impersonations? I have never seen prop guns sitting out on set EVER ????
Then to photograph his pain and give it to the press! Hmmmm, so very heartless, TRUMPERS?

While some may be eager to buy into Janet’s theory, the truth is there were several instances of misfires from alleged “cold guns” (cold meaning the gun shouldn’t have live ammunition) and poor working conditions prior to the tragic incident.
Some crew members were so upset about the conditions on set that they walked off.
And what’s even more unsettling is prior to this tragedy, Alec’s stunt double had a prop gun that misfired.

This is a horrible tragedy and I feel the true culprit is negligence and poor working conditions on set.
