Jake Paul Slams Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis After Netflix Fight Is Canceled
Frens, things just took a wild turn in the world of boxing. The highly anticipated exhibition match between Jake Paul and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, originally set for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, has officially been called off.
The announcement came Monday night from Most Valuable Promotions, who confirmed that the fight won’t move forward following a new civil lawsuit filed against Davis by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel.
She’s accusing him of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian released a statement saying, “Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly. While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025.”

What Led To The Cancellation
The matchup had fans buzzing due to the major size difference between the two fighters.
Davis, who’s 30-0-1 with 28 knockouts, currently holds the WBA 135-pound title, while Paul, 12-1 with 7 knockouts, competes as a 200-pound cruiserweight.
But Davis’ growing list of legal troubles has once again taken center stage.
Just last year, he faced a hit-and-run case in Baltimore that resulted in 90 days of house arrest and three years of probation.
And while several of his domestic violence cases have been dropped, this latest lawsuit seems to have been the final straw.
After the news broke, MVP reportedly tried to save the event by finding a replacement for Davis.
They reached out to Francis Ngannou, Ryan Garcia, Andre Ward, and Nate Diaz, but no deals came through.
Fans who bought tickets through Ticketmaster will get full refunds.
Jake Paul Speaks Out
Following the announcement, Jake Paul didn’t hold back.
He took to X (formerly Twitter) to unleash a fiery statement calling Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis “an actual walking human piece of garbage.”
Paul accused Davis of being unprofessional, showing up late to shoots, and making “bizarre requests,” while condemning his alleged history of abuse and legal issues.
He also apologized to his team and fans for the fallout, saying, “I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and to grow his bank account. My company champions women.”
Paul wrapped his post with a message that made one thing clear—he’s not slowing down anytime soon. “As for me it’s on to the next one as always. Anyone. Anytime. Any place.”
What’s Next For Jake Paul
While the Netflix card may have taken a hit, Jake Paul’s next fight is already in motion.
MVP has confirmed he’ll headline a new event in 2025, with details on his next opponent and venue coming soon.
